Great tour! Fun to get out in the river to see the area on this beautifully restored tug boat. Mark is a great host and captain.

We had a memorable tour with Mark and crew. Great history, views, even got to witness a bar pilot change as it happened! Highly recommend.

The owner, Mark, is very knowledgeable about the river and the community. He is a great story teller. Clearly loves his boat and sharing it with his customers. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

The perfect way to spend an afternoon with family visiting from out of town! Whether you go for the wildlife viewing or local history, you are bound to see something new and learn a new fact about Astoria and the surrounding communities.

The boat has covered seating enclosed inside, making this a great activity no matter what the weather is.

Fun, historic, educational, beautiful. 5/5!! Felt great getting out on the river!

More fun couldn’t be had on land or sea! Not only is it eye opening to see Astoria & surrounds from the water, Mark’s knowledge of the area history is amazing!! Highly recommend- we’re hoping to book a crabbing trip in the Fall.

I was born in Astoria many, many years ago and having the opportunity to see the waterfront from the River again was such a privilege. Capt Mark has a wonderful knowledge of the town, and how it’s evolved over the last 200 years. He’s done his research and has many photos to share. A tour on the Arrow 2 is a trip of a lifetime. Thanks Capt Mark.

We had a wonderful time on our tour, great view of the waterfront and the hosts were exceptional. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

Guys, this was an absolute blast! We had so much fun. Astoria is an absolute favorite and we learned so much about the river. Mark and his crewman, Mark, were fantastic tour guides. It’s a must do when visiting the coast!

Great scenery from the river and the boat has been beautifully restored.

The boat is wonderful, fancy wood trimming in the cabin. They gave us a tour of the engine room. The tour of the Columbia River was great. The captain also new a great deal about local history and had lots of historical photos to share.

Mark and the Arrow 2 (and crew) were absolutely fantastic. My family have been going to Astoria for years and this is far and away the absolute best experience we have ever had. Marks love for the area and love for Arrow 2 shine through with flying colors and make this a must do experience.

We enjoyed a little Columbia River adventure yesterday with Capt Mark on the Arrow 2, a retired pilot vessel and I’m already planning my next adventure. Mark has a vast knowledge of Columbia River history. We spent a total of about two hours on the river but it felt like 30 minutes we were having so much fun! Book a tour for yourself you won’t regret it.

We could not have been more pleased with our ride on this special vessel and with its owner, Mark. Not only was it a spectacular view of Astoria – but the history, stories and even jokes from Mark were equally outstanding. Truly, the best way to see and hear about this amazing area of the country. This needs to be on your “must do” list. Thanks again, Arrow!

Mark is a deeply knowledgeable and friendly tour guide who can answer any and all questions you have. You’ll want to continue your tour long after it’s over.

What a fantastic experience! Mark is an outstanding tour guide who knows everything and everyone on the Columbia River. A ride on the Arrow 2 is a way to experience living history. My wife went twice in two days and says she would still go a third time. We plan to be back in the fall for some crabbing!

One of the best tours we have ever taken.

Super fun. Captain Mark is welcoming and knowledgeable. He really knows his harbor and all the vessels both large and small. The little pilot boat was beautiful, although Captain Mark would tell you it is a work in progress. We watched the restoration of the Arrow No. #2 on YouTube the night before the 3 hour, really amazing what he has accomplished.

Beware, if you take your children on this tour, they just may grow up to be tug boat captains.

Enjoy the spectacular Columbia River from the Arrow 2 Tugboat.
We love Astoria, and the trip on the Arrow 2 tugboat was the most enjoyable and interesting time spent on the Columbia in all our years of visiting. We would highly recommend taking this tour. Mark is a very experienced skipper, local history expert, and all around nice guy. We look forward to going on the tour again next time we visit.

Bucket List!
Absolutely incredible. Where to begin? We had the rare experience to actually surf along with a container ship during a pilot transfer. Great history, info, and local recommendations from Captain Mark. Even having been on this trip, the scale of the Columbia is hard to comprehend and express. Worth the trip on its own and Astoria has so much more to offer, too. Once in a lifetime!

Lovely day on the Columbia
An unforgettable experience on the Columbia River. Granted, we were told it was one of the 4-5 best weather days of the year, but the entire experience was amazing. Even got to see a pilot transfer to a huge “RO-RO” (“roll-on, roll-off” car carrier) ship from relatively up close. The history of the boat was the start, but the history of the river that Captain Mark imparts and the detail about Astoria was quite informative. You will not forget this experience!

Good times on the tugboat!
What a fun time on the Columbia! Mark did a fantastic job showing us the sights and explaining their historical significance on our tour. Definitely need to put this on on your itinerary when you visit the OR/WA Coast. Wonderful!

Simply the best!
This is the best way to view the Astoria waterfront and learn about history on the river. Great ride, so much to see…..sea lions, pilot boats, ships and tankers, the Astoria Column up on the hill. Mark is knowledgeable and grew up in the area. Just a great all-around experience.

Make sure you Book this Tour! Honestly, an Opportunity of a Lifetime!

My 95 year old mother and Uncle and Aunt of the same vintage were visiting us so we decided to give this Tour a try! It did not disappoint! We had THE most incredible day! None of us have ever met anyone who knows more about any place than Mark knows about the Columbia River, Astoria and the history of Tug Boats and Pilot Boats. He has a great sense of humor and kept our interest piqued the entire trip! At one point my mom said, “This makes me feel young again!”. Deck Hand Drake, was also very charming, knowledgeable and friendly. It could not have been a better day. We also got to crab on this tour and learned an incredible amount about crabbing as well! Put this tour at the TOP of your list for things to do on the Northern Oregon Coast. You will be SO glad you did!

Simply the best!
We took an evening tour last night and it was great! We sat and stood in the wheelhouse listening to stories and history of the river and buildings as we passed by. It was fun to see Astoria from the river side. We also learned how transfers are made to the ships and why the ships wait in the river. Saw a river pilot boat and heard them talking to the ship as they drove out. We brought along a pizza which we enjoyed on the deck. People excitedly waved from the shore and restaurants along the river as we went by. The captain was attentive and very knowledgeable and we felt very safe.
